Trailer Design

In this area we will show you the options available in the overall look of the trailer. This is the most important part of designing your new trailer. Most of these options are interchangeable between models and this is probably the area most people like to make their custom trailer standout by combining different exterior design options. The Additional Options section will also help in setting your trailer apart from the rest of the crowd.

Nose Profile: This area is dedicated to the look of the nose of the trailer whether it is Gooseneck or Bumper Pull.

Tapered Gooseneck Nose- Many peoples first question is does a Cimarron have a square nose? The answer is No. The tapered nose is the standard option on the trailers and it lets the corners have a radius allowing the trailer to turn sharper behind the tow vehicle and giving it a more modern look.

V Style Gooseneck Nose- This option is increasing in popularity for several reasons. Many people with short bed trucks like this option because it increases turning radius. Another positive to this option is more aero dynamic design. We have seen an increased fuel mileage when pulling the V nose style. As with anything there is a little give and take in the fact you do lose some storage space in the nose area.

V Style Bumper Pull Nose- This is the standard option in the bumper pulls giving them an aero dynamic appearance and a good turning radius.

Nose Design: Cimarron has been very innovative in offering not one but two nose design options for the Gooseneck trailers.

VP structure- This is the standard gooseneck structure. This has the typical Gooseneck look with the undercarriage of the nose being exposed more and the side gusset uncovered.

Wrap Around- This is Cimarron's upgrade nose design. It basically acts as a trim package that covers up most of the undercarriage of the nose and adds a nice trim package around the gusset. This option can be seen on most of the Showstar and Stierwalt addition trailers.

Enclosed Front- This option is combined with the wrap around structure and adds a nice finished look to the trailer. It is especially popular with the models that have lots of additional equipment such as air ride controls, hydraulic jack, Propane bottles and additional under the nose options. The roll up door is utilized and is a high quality product that holds up to the test of time. This option can include a floor or no floor depending on your choice. We really like adding a floor to this area so you can utilize it for storage of jacks, ratchet straps, blocks, or other trailer aid devices.

Side Walls:

The side walls can be made up of a variety of designs to best fit the customer's needs. Many of the sidewall options can be combined to create the custom look you desire.

Air gaps- The air gaps in the side can range from 0 to as many as you desire. These air gaps in our trailers always come notched so you can add plexi glass when you order your trailer or at a later date. Many of the Show trailers we are building today are coming with 3 air gaps with one of them being down low and smaller. This has been real popular on the Showstar trailers allowing smaller animals to get air at their head level.

Easy Air slat- The Easy Air slat has become increasingly popular as a replacement to the traditional air gap with plexi glass inserts. The fold down slat is easy to open and close and can be done in a hurry if weather changes require additional air flow or prevention of moisture. These slat sections each have two gas shocks that help assist in keeping them up or holding them down. These can be used open going down the road and the shocks will hold them in position.

Fold down Windows- These windows are very popular in the Showstar models. They are much like the Easy Air slat in the fact they offer quick easy air access. The windows are tinted to prevent sunlight in the livestock compartment. They also can be opened with the sliding window in them or they can be folded down to allow more air access. These windows in conjunction with Easy air slat make a nice combination.

Slide open Windows- They have the same look and function as the fold down window. These windows only slide open allowing air to vent through the screen area. These windows have been increasingly popular because of the reduced cost from the fold down windows and the fact many people find having the tint on the windows and having them up is actually keeping the animals cooler because the sunlight is not coming through the openings.

Inlays- This is a really nice and clean way to identify your trailer without putting decals on it. The inlays can be custom done to meet your needs. We do a lot of Initials, Brands and logos in that area. They can be circles or ovals and the circles come in two different sizes. They can also be easily changed if you decide to sell the trailer. Sheet Color:

There are several options when looking at sheet color. We can mix and match sheet color if you want and sometimes this is done on ramps such as side or rear to either add graphics or just give a custom look.

White- White sheets are the standard color.

Champagne- This is one of the newest colors and matches the bottom tan color on many of the pickups today.

Black- This is the most popular color we do and really makes the trailers look classy.

Black Metallic- This is another new color and I refer to it more as a charcoal color with metal flake in it.

Stainless Steel- Stainless sheets provide a look all of their own and really gives a great look that last a lifetime. This is the most expensive option, because of the color of the stainless on the back it requires to be lined with white sheets behind it where it would show through.

Custom Color- Custom colors are available at request.

  • Mill Finish

    Mill Finish

Slat Finish: The extruded side slats of the trailer make up a large percentage of the look and can be made into two different options

Mill Finished: This is the standard option on the trailers and what is on most aluminum trailers you see on the road. This finish is easy to clean and can be acid washed for the New look after heavy oxidation. If you are someone that lives in an area where lots of salts are used on the roads this option is usually the best for your conditions

Polished Aluminum - Is the eye catching finish that you can see your reflection in? It is one easy way to make your trailer get noticed. The polished slat does take more maintenance than the mill finish and it is important to remove road salts from it as soon as possible during the winter months. This finish cannot be acid washed but can be citrus washed and will continue to look excellent with a little TLC.

Fenders:

Cimarron offers two styles of fenders for their trailers. The best thing about the fender options is both of them are bolt on fenders so replacing them after a mishap is easy and doesn't break the bank.

Extruded Fender: On the lonestar models this fender is the standard but it can be placed on any model Cimarron offers. This fender is most defiantly the strongest fender with a rugged look. Has been very popular in ranch trailers as a tough all around fender.

Tear Drop Fender: This is the upgraded fender that you see on most of the models today. It's what we use exclusively on many of the show trailers. This fender is both available in polished aluminum or mill finished and we usually match the fender to the slat options on the trailer.

Custom Painting:

This gives your trailer many times the look that gets it noticed. We can paint a little area on the trailers to large areas. Many people choose to paint the top rails of the trailers to give them some accent. The color options are limitless when it comes to painting.
